A credible tip led Drug Task Force Investigators to an impound yard on Wednesday afternoon. A large amount of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice” had said to have been left inside a towed vehicle.
DTF Inv. Kyle Johnson deployed “Bak”, his K9 for a free air sniff around the suspicious vehicle. A positive alert was indicated to the presence of the odor of narcotics, specifically coming from the vehicle.

A search warrant was obtained by DTF Inv. Jason Vinson, and executed the same day. Subsequently, almost a 1/4 pound or 102 grams of methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle, along with a loaded .38 handgun. The street sale value of the methamphetamine is estimated at around $8,000.
This case is under active investigation. Suspects have been identified and expect arrests and prosecution to follow.
